Comfort Is Everything ~ By Sadiqa

Shoes….a girl's best friend, right?

Now, I love a good high heel as much as the next girl. But let's be real, we can't all have dancer's feet and be walking around in 6-inch high stilettos everyday.

This concrete jungle wasn’t made for hiking in heels. With all the the pot holes and cracks in the streets, how can a girl truly be graceful in stilettos, unless she has a PLP (Personal Leaning Post) to help hold her up all day…God Bless those PLPs.
At some point in the day...those shoes must come off and when they do, the secret stash of flats in your purse must come out.

A style of shoe I wouldn’t mind wearing everyday…Wedges!!

The more trendy kind, of course. For us shorter girls, wedges do some wonderful things for us. They give us the height we need, the cute edgy look we love, and most importantly the comfort we all deserve.

Thank God for the Wedge!

Plus they come in all different colors and styles...gotta love it!

A guy friend of mine once told me, he hates when women wear wedges…
“What! Why?” His response: “Because they're an illusion. They do nothing for women's legs.”
I was shocked…I think wedges do a lot for our legs…but most importantly, they bring a bit more comfort to our feet versus the heel.

Ladies, wear what you love…

You wanna rock a wedge...Rock.Your.Wedges!

(But be sure to stash those flats in ya purse though!)
Long live the days when women could wear heels all day, and truly be comfortable in them. If this was the 1940s or 1950s, I’d be okay wearing 2-inch or 3-inch heels to run errands and go to the grocery store. But this is the year 2012, the year where girls wear 6-inch high heels with a platform to a wedding or graduation, to a dinner party, even to work and apparently we take out the trash in them too.

It looks like we're slowing killing ourselves out there...taking tippy-toe steps when we walk...

Not graceful or comfortable at ALL.

Times have changed and fashion is definitely changing. It seems as time goes on the shoes get higher and higher...and the styles are ever evolving.

Fashion is not only about taking risk; it's also about wearing what you love. Ladies, celebrate who you are!

And MOST IMPORTANTLY....Be comfortable doing it :)

  7. To a party and or event the heels come on, but I don't understand how woman do it casually. Everytime I see a random woman struggling to walk after a long day at work in heels I think silly girl. Beyonce does it because she is drove everywhere. In an out of a car and barely walking allows these stars to manage those ridiculously heels. So me the regular woman until rich will be in Flats.

  9. I love your article!!!! I must agree with short girls and height. We can surely use those extra inches to reach the top shelf in the supermarkets, closets and kitchen cabinets. But, flats are a life saver when the feet start to ache and you need some relief.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to future articles.
