Dating has certainly taken a pause or shown a much different face by way of quarantine. For many who are casually dating, going out on dates has all but stopped. For others, who are not quarantined with a significant other, dating has become virtual. For many who are quarantined with a significant other, date night has become about how to have a fun night in the house.
We’ve compiled a list of our favorite date night ideas for quarantine—whether you’re single and ready to mingle, or tied down.
1. Use Netflix Party
If you aren’t physically with your significant other or are casually seeing someone who you are not in quarantine with, Netflix has released an amazing feature to help people watch movies together! Just choose your favorite film, or even a new TV show on Netflix, and click the “party” feature so you can both watch together! You can pause at the same time and even use a chat feature.
2. Exercise together
Many workout studios and instructors, as well as personal trainers, are hosting free/ inexpensive online and Zoom boot camps and other cardio or strength classes. Sign up with your significant other (whether or not you’re physically together) so you can motivate one another to take workout classes together!
3. Have a virtual happy hour/wine tasting
A happy hour works for casual daters or serious relationships! You can set up a FaceTime call and decide on the same bottle of wine or cocktail. Together, you guys can sip on a mutual favorite bottle of wine and connect online.
4. Have a game night
Most of us know that board games are all the rage in quarantine. Use this time to dust off that old Monopoly board, or even log on to a game like Psych! via the app store and play either in person or virtually!
5. Cook something new
Many of us have used this extra time to brush up on our cooking skills or try a new or tricky baked good! Whether or not you’re with your partner in person, this is a great chance to pick out a recipe and make it together—either on FaceTime or in person!
