I lost four pounds over the two weeks, a healthy two pounds a week. I didn’t feel deprived of food. We’d had the odd treat here and there. I hadn’t been over-zealous with my workouts and most importantly I’d enjoyed it.
So what did I learn from all of this?
If you want to achieve anything in life, get yourself around people who are already thinking the way you want to think, doing what you want to do and living the life you want to live.
Maybe you don’t want to change your body or health. Maybe you want to overcome your fear of dogs:get around people who love dogs. If you want to start a business, get around people who have started and run successful businesses. If you want to learn to cook, get around people who cook food that you love to eat. Who can help you to live the life you want to live? Find them and follow them!
There’s a reason for the term “growing pains”; with growth often comes discomfort. We need to be willing to step out of our comfort zone to find people who can teach us what appears to come so naturally to them. It can be challenging, but isn’t it worth it?
