The Cinema Guild presents Starless Dreams, a film that The Village Voice dubbed “extraordinary.” On this first weekend of the premiere date, come and enjoy the critically-acclaimed documentary about young teenagers sharing quarters in a rehabilitation center on the outskirts of Tehran, Iran. The New York Times calls it “a heartbreaking work.” Don’t forget your tissues!
The Present at Barrymore Theater
Want to have a celebrity-sighting? The Guardian calls Cate Blanchett and Richard Roxburgh’s chemistry “electrifying,” in The Present, a story about desire, relationships, and denial. Presented at the Barrymore Theatre on Friday, February 24th, starting at 7:30, discount tickets range from $59 to $99, and provide a fun night out seated feet away from an Oscar-winning actress.
At a discount price of only $13, the rambunctious and humorous songs of Fats Waller can be heard at the Harlem Repertory Theatre on February 25th. The show starts at 7 p.m. Fun fact: The theater company itself was founded by actor-turned-professor Keith Lee Grant.
Brunch Cruise around Manhattan
For a fancy and delicious afternoon, check out the Around Manhattan Brunch Cruise. This cruise offers a little under three hours of gorgeous Manhattan views in a classic 1920s yacht.
