Nancy Drew first appeared in 1930s children’s book series and since then has been reborn into two TV series, five movies, and more recently, a long string of computer games. Now the popular computer games can be found in the app store, allowing you to play the games on the go.
Nancy Drew: Codes and Clues Mystery Coding Game is a new app designed to hook its players with clues that lead to thousands of puzzles. Each puzzle gets progressively harder as you get further into the story, and when you reach the end, you find the culprit behind the strange happenings in the game. Kids will also learn basic coding, reading, and critical thinking skills as they find clues and code a robot puppy. Not only does the app promote STEM and Computer Science skills, it allows young girls to see and play a young woman who follows her dreams, takes charge, and solves mysteries.
According to the apps description, “Today everything related to technology requires some type of code. So sparking an interest in coding, especially for girls, at an early age is important. Nancy Drew: Codes and Clues sparks this interest through a fun and engaging story. The mystery adventure story also builds critical thinking and reading skills as kids read along with story dialogue. Nancy Drew is not a complicated app. Parents or kids do not need to have any prior knowledge of programming. It’s just full of fun education, music and coding!”
You will begin the game as a member of Nancy Drew’s De-TECH-Tive crew and will choose disguises and find clues to solve the mystery of a missing project at the Tech Fair. You will need to help Nancy track down suspects and discover what happened to the missing project before the Tech Fair begins.
According to a game review on Common Sense Media, “Nancy Drew: Codes & Clues is a story-based game that involves collecting evidence to solve a mystery and dragging visual code blocks into place to move a robot. With three female friends setting out to solve a mystery and different costumes for each part of the story, it’s designed to appeal to girls. Kids can take screenshots as they play and can also enter their name at completion for a coding-mastery certificate.” In order to unlock all of the chapters you will have to pay a one-time fee of $3.99.
Nancy Drew: Codes and Clues Mystery Coding is available on both iOS and Android devices. The game is waiting for you in the app store if you dare to play.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry you found the app disappointing. Despite it’s flaws, we appreciate it for its ambition to achieve what few others apps attempt – telling girls that they are capable to be feminine and intellectual.

this app is a year old and an abysmal failure that has only managed less than a 1000 downloads on google play in a year.
It is a dress up app that is riding on the STEM coattails and teaches absolutely nothing about programming. It has little replay value and not worth the price
