Prom is a once in a lifetime event that every high school student gets a chance to experience. It is a time to dress up, enjoy life, and celebrate the year’s achievements. Of course, going through a breakup may put a damper on the celebrations.
Eighteen-year-old Gabi Dunn‘s boyfriend broke up with her just two days after prom and found an interesting yet funny way to edit her ex-boyfriend out of the photographs. She told Inside Edition, that she just wanted to “destroy all evidence of her date by erasing him from her life.”
Dunn swapped fellow Canadian and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds into the photos, allowing her to show off her pictures, and in turn her fabulous dress. Tagging Reynolds, she tweeted, “My boyfriend and I broke up a few days after prom, so I decided to ‘edit’ the photos a little.”
Not only did she receive 85,000 likes and 10,000 retweets, it seems Reynolds could not resist responding to the tweet himself. He replied with a little advice, “We should photoshop me over his yearbook picture next.” Reynolds also created a new hashtag, #Don’tMessWithGabi.
Dunn told Inside Edition, “I love Ryan Reynolds, so I was kinda like, if I’m gonna go to prom with anybody, it’s gonna be Ryan Reynolds. I’ve seen him on Twitter before replying to people, so I was like, ‘Maybe he will.’ But then I was like, ‘Um, probably not.’”
Dunn added that she was surprised when she saw that the Deadpool star had retweeted her post. She said, “I screamed at like the top of my lungs and sprinted around my room. I loved the hashtag. That’s like my favorite actor. It was so exciting!”
Her ex-boyfriend even responded to the tweet with a message of his own for Reynolds, saying,
“Jokes on you now. I’m not going to see Deadpool 2.”
Reynolds, the father of two young girls, is known for his funny tweets like “On our 6 am walk, my daughter asked where the moon goes each morning. I let her know it’s in heaven, visiting daddy’s freedom.” He certainly isn’t afraid to depict a world in which everything is not perfect and regularly tweets about his children.
Reynolds also has a habit of tweeting fellow Marvel stars like Gal Gadot, star of Wonder Woman where he tipped his hat to the movie after it surpassed Deadpool at the box office. Once he even joked that he would use his wife as a human shield in order to protect his baby girl.
He told David Letterman, “I used to say to [Blake], ‘I would take a bullet for you. I could never love anything as much as I love you.’ I would say that to my wife. And the second I looked in that baby’s eyes, I knew in that exact moment that if we were ever under attack, I would use my wife as a human shield to protect that baby.”
It is no surprise that Reynolds continued his jokes and shenanigans in order to help Dunn get some revenge on her ex-boyfriend.
