Three StudyTubers You Should Be Watching

It’s the start of a new year and a new semester, and what better way to get back in the studying mood than to watch some StudyTube?

“StudyTubers” are a fairly recent vlogging trend on YouTube, started by students, for students. Usually, these channels are focused on everyday academic life, with videos such as “Study-With-Me”s, day in the life videos for a vlogger’s school and/or major, and even pencil case organization videos. Creators often livestream their study sessions as well.

The content is relatable, aesthetically pleasing, and, most importantly, motivating. Whether they are also students or just want to be more productive, subscribers keep coming back for more. This trend is not going away anytime soon. You can even find motivation from “Studyblrs” and “Studygrams”.

Here are some StudyTubers you should check out to help save your semester.

1. Ruby Granger

One of the most well-known of the StudyTube genre, Ruby Granger started her channel talking about books and giving studying tips in 2015. Since then, she has amassed a following of nearly half a million viewers. Her most popular videos gained just as many, if not more, views.

Now, Granger studies English literature at the University of Exeter. Not only does she continue to give great suggestions on balancing life and school, as well as upload satisfying time-lapses of her study sessions, but she also promotes anti-bullying campaigns such as #canbekind. With her overwhelmingly positive personality, it is easy to see why so many people love Ruby Granger.

2. Yoora Jung

A pre-med student with over 600k subscribers, Yoora Jung often uploads vlogs showing glimpses into her life as a student: back-to-school routines, attempting to wake up at 5 AM, studying, and squeezing in time for breaks. She also uploads content that steps away from academics, including her attempts in trying out new workout routines, travel vlogs, and story videos such as her recent “a stranger walked into my room at 4 am”.

Content aside, Jung’s videos are well-edited, combining subtle visual effects with chill lo-fi beats. Even if you are not prepping for medical school, Yoora Jung’s videos are great when you need something to watch for a comforting and relatable study break.

3. Eve Bennett

An Oxford student with a growing following, Eve Bennett also uploads a mix of student vlogs and student advice videos, the latter being some of her most popular videos. She is well-known for being very honest and open about her experiences as a university student, speaking about both the ups and downs of collegiate life in her videos.

The comments under Bennett’s videos, especially her more open and honest chat videos regarding mental health, are full of support and positivity, no matter how difficult or stressful things may be. The warm and encouraging community surrounding her content is yet another reason to stop by Eve Bennett’s channel.

Although they are currently not in school, whether they graduated or are taking a break, here are a few more channels to check out: oh no nina, Eve Cornwell, and Jem.
